When will we have smart media (not propaganda) again?

Bambi loves kids, snowmen, sneakers, socks, nieces, and dogs… However, she does not care to read media articles about any of the following:

Mr. Trudeau’s cute kids and their snowman:

https://www.narcity.com/en-ca/people/ottawa/justin-trudeaus-family-got-out-in-the-snow-finally-made-a-snowman-photo

Ms. Harris’ charming sneakers, shoes… or even niece:

and Mr. Biden’s beautiful dog:

She does not know about you, but she prefers to read about their politics, hoping it will be substantial.

Following the Beirut blast, Lebanon received donations of at least five field hospitals, including two from Qatar. Despite the catastrophic pandemic, it is only yesterday that authorities accepted to build them!

According to a report entitled “Covid-19 emergency appeal Lebanon” (May, 2020) prepared by the UN an its partners in Lebanon, the Lebanese public sector has only 140 ICU beds, while 300 beds would be availed by the Lebanese private sector. Furthermore, “additional funds are needed to procure the needed equipment to ensure a capacity of 700 ICU beds”.

Today, January 18, 2021, there were 750 Covid-19 patients in the ICU and sadly 59 people died from this illness in the past 24 hours.

A tweet by l’Orient Today (English edition of the l’Orient Le Jour)

Yesterday night, before going to sleep, Bambi watched the MTV News, with tears in her eyes. Indeed, Lebanon’s Covid-19 health-crisis is devastating to its healthcare system, to say the least. If current or new inpatients need to use an ICU bed for reasons not related to Covid19, what will happen to them?

Keep in mind that many of Beirut hospitals were destroyed during the blast. One must also remember the financial crisis that has been going on since October 2019.

As a result, many private hospitals are facing shortages and are not receiving arrears from the government, which is officially bankrupt. OK, corrupt and bankrupt… or bankrupt and corrupt. Who cares in which order now?!

In the middle of this tragic crisis, there is a lockdown with a severe curfew (following more loose times during the holidays) in the hope of delaying the spread of the coronavirus and alleviating the pressure on the healthcare system.

It is in the middle of this chaos, again in a country where corrupt minds can bring ammonium nitrate, resort to Ponzi schemes, or even build buildings without any protection from earthquakes, that Bambi will share with you the following story: Resourceful yet exhausted healthcare providers at a Beirut hospital (called the Rizk Hospital) started rapidly building extra patient rooms in freight containers to welcome arriving Covid-19-patients lacking oxygen (and risking death!). Well guess what happened? A group of police officers came to stop them. Guess why?! Because they did not have a construction permit from the municipality!! Should we cry or laugh to this absurdity?! Did the country’s authorities ask citizens for the permission to destroy their city? Here we have citizens saving lives! The least their country can do is to thank them, especially that Lebanon’s sectors have been collapsing, one after the other (banking, health, political, etc.). Well, thank Goodness, with the pressure of the media and social media outcry, the authorities came to their senses at the end of the day. This quick construction continued.

A tweet of an Agence France Presse (AFP) journalist, Mr. Jean-Marc Mojon about the Hôtel Dieu de France Hospital in Beirut, as re-shared by his colleague, Ms. Roula Douglas (from l’Orient Le Jour)

Now, to come back to the donations of field hospitals, just five days following the Beirut blast on August 4, 2020, countries around the world, some poor ones, and foundations rallied to help Lebanon. At least three of them sent field hospitals, including Qatar (2), Russia (1), Iran (1), Jordan (1), and the Philips Foundation (1). This in addition to medical equipment from around the world, including poor countries:

https://www.usnews.com/news/world/articles/2020-08-09/factbox-countries-rally-round-lebanon-after-beirut-blast

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/20200806-lebanon-receives-4-field-hospitals-following-beirut-explosion/

https://www.thejakartapost.com/news/2020/08/06/qatar-sends-field-hospitals-to-lebanon.html

https://www.philips-foundation.com/a-w/articles/beirut-explosion-response.html

Thanks to all the generous donators. Most likely, some of the medical equipment may have been used, as needed and bravo for that. However, for unknown reasons to the population, the two field hospitals from Qatar remained stored for over 5 months, despite the crying need!!

Luckily, and finally, Lebanese officials, once again came back to their senses… but after five full months. They finally gave their approval to build those field hospitals:

http://www.naharnet.com/stories/en/278572

Was their motivation not to do so sectarian? Perhaps not agreeing on which part of the country to place it in or which part of the population to serve? Was their reason corruption-related (God knows how their shenanigans work)? Or was it just a mere mismanagement or… stupidity?

As usual, the Lebanese population will never officially know the motivation underlying the fiasco.

So, Mr. Biden/Ms. Harris et al., do the Iranian regime actions look “peaceful”, climate-friendly, and economically fair to the starving Iranian people? How do their actions foster peace in Lebanon and the whole Middle East?

We learned yesterday from Israeli media that Mr. Biden’s administration team is already negotiating with Iran:

https://www.timesofisrael.com/report-biden-team-already-holding-talks-with-iran-on-us-return-to-nuclear-deal/

We learned from the Canadian, American, and Iranian media the following about Iran:

This “peaceful” country is “asking UN watchdog to stop publishing unnecessary details about nuclear program“.

It is also demanding the following: “Biden must unconditionally return to JCPOA“.

How will Biden et al. address this political and military intimidation? Bambi is curious.

Montreal is a francophone city. Yet a 2021 promotional video of the “Club de Foot de Montréal” [Montreal soccer club] is presented in the following order of languages: Mohawk, English… and LAST in French. If such “wokeness” is not collective insanity, what is it?

The first article of the charter of the Ville de Montréal states the following (http://legisquebec.gouv.qc.ca/fr/ShowDoc/cs/C-11.4):

“1. Est constituée la Ville de Montréal. Montréal est une ville de langue française.Montréal est la métropole du Québec et un de ses principaux acteurs en matière de développement économique”.

This means: “A city is hereby constituted under the name “Ville de Montréal” . Montréal is a French-speaking city.Montréal is the metropolis of Québec and one of its key actors as regards economic development”.

What is the purpose of all these initiatives, like this one, and who is funding them?

Is the ultimate point of such initiatives to diminish the French language in Québec?

https://ne-np.facebook.com/ClubdeFootMTL/videos/2815332848739433/

Can Mr. Trudeau clarify if “he helped China to cover-up origin of Coronavirus at inception of the outbreak”, as reported by an Indian media, citing “a Canadian portal quoting military document”?

Mmm, Mr. Trudeau, how can you explain this article/video to us… ideally without accusing this journalist or the Canadian military leaking the information to him of using a “coded language“, as you did with Mr. Blanchet (when he raised questions about one of your new Ministers)?

Why did the army cut the quarantine time of our soldiers upon their arrival home sick (from Wuhan), even sending them to their homes across the country?

And why didn’t we test them for the coronavirus, as they requested?

Why didn’t you tell us about all this then?

Why isn’t the CBC telling us about this? Or the other mainstream media? Why should we read the news about Canada from a foreign country (India)?

Is this normal? Or did our media become too dependent on the Government (to the point of becoming its voice)?

Mr. Trudeau, are we in Canada or in Qatar where the media (e.g., Al Jazeera, etc.) are allowed to criticize the whole world… but not their authorities?

Is Mr. Trudeau telling us that we cannot call Islamism Islamism anymore?

Should we laugh or cry at Mr. Trudeau’s childish yet dangerous attempt at demagogy?

Mr. Trudeau is now telling us that Mr. Yves-François Blanchet is using a “coded language” about his Minister of Transportation, Mr. Alghabra ? (for the record, please read Bambi’s latest post about the topic).

He is now pretending that Mr. Blanchet incited hate by just raising questions about the past political positions or sympathies of Mr. Alghabra?

Is Twitter going to remove Mr. Blanchet from its platform now?

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/omar-alghabra-minister-bloc-blanchet-trudeau-1.5875222

https://ici.radio-canada.ca/nouvelle/1763495/remaniement-conseil-ministres-omar-alghabra-bloc-quebecois-bq-yfb

Please give us a break, Mr. Trudeau and stop using what happened in the United States to censor your clever opposition further and further.

https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/goldstein-trudeau-wants-to-turn-back-clock-on-free-speech

Why do you seem to be modelling their (totalitarian) methods?

Don’t you trust yourself/governance enough to think that you can/deserve to win the next elections without resorting to dirty political games?

Oups, soon with the new regulations, our elected members of Parliament or citizens, like Bambi cannot criticize our government anymore because this could be called “online hate speech” ?/☹:

https://torontosun.com/opinion/columnists/goldstein-trudeau-wants-to-turn-back-clock-on-free-speech

By the way, who gets to decide what is hateful in your new policy?

And didn’t we already have laws to protect citizens from hate speech (the real one, Bambi means)? So, why all this now?

How ironic it would be when Bambi can continue to criticize the government of her birth country or Islamism there, but… not her Canadian government or Islamism here.

Isn’t our world becoming increasingly upside down?

——

Mr. Blanchet is neither Islamophic, nor racist, and surely not divisive, as the Liberals/Mr. Omar Al Ghabra are pretending

With all due respect, and without accusing the new Minister of Transportation of anything as he said, Mr. Blanchet had the courage to raise questions about Mr. Al Ghabra. Check the reaction of the media below (Bambi spared you a long list, just posting a couple of articles).

Knowing that this politician tends to be reasonable, Bambi spent some time since yesterday searching the net for evidence about this Mr. Al Ghabra and his sympathy or ties with Islamism or his support of the Sharia law in Ontario (as a choice for litigation in Ontario family tribunals or something).

She had trouble finding any evidence to links (not functional anymore at times, but only through secondary sources). However, she insisted in searching more this evening. She looked for any article or speech in Arabic, telling herself as even if they wanted to make it mysteriously disappear from the net, they may not understand the language, and thus forget about it :). Well, indeed, she found that precious piece of evidence coming from the own mouth of Mr. Al Ghabra himself. See the end of this post!

At the time of this story concerning the Sharia law, Bambi was living in Toronto and was not overjoyed to hear about such a thing. Why? We are in Canada and not in the Middle East. In her mind, clearly there should be ONE rule of law for all of us in Canada, and not one for each group or tribe or religion or culture, regardless of which one it is. Period.

Bambi is saying so and she has many religious and ultra-religious Muslim friends in more than one province. They all know what she thinks and all respect her opinion. No one has ever called her racist because of that. So, why are we doing this to Mr. Blanchet, once again?

Mr. Al Ghabra, why don’t you and your peers who are supporting you with collegiality put aside the silly victim card (as you cleverly said in your interview in Arabic from many years ago, perhaps 2006) and courageously take responsibility for your own (past?) opinions. You sounded wiser in the Arabic interview back then, more than now when you are speaking the language of political correctness of Mr. Trudeau et al.

OK, Bambi is saying all this and Mr. Al Ghabra is free to have his own opinion about the Sharia law of course, but should he have the decency to tell us that Mr. Blanchet was right?

Same for the journalist from the Journal of Montreal (that the English-Canadian media is calling “right-wing” without naming it and it is not even to the right, just like the historic Québec :)!) and even the more real right-wing Mr. Ezra Levant. Yes, it turned out that they are all right in pointing to the fact that Mr. Al Ghabra supported Sharia law back then (maybe he changed his mind now and that’s fine. End of the story).

Mind you, he also supported Hezbollah and Hamas (and maybe he changed his mind now too). Why doesn’t he openly tell us that? Bambi has changed her mind on many topics, including the Hezbollah itself. At first, she thought it was a true resistance movement (when Israel was occupying Lebanon). Now, she clearly sees that it is not only a state in a state, but rather a MUCH larger (Iranian or type of Islamist) state than the Lebanese state.

So, Mr. Al Ghabra may end up being a wonderful Minister of Transportation. This is not the issue. He seems to be passionate and competent. He also seems to be a nice character (maybe a bit shy and that has charm) in both English and Arabic. He is also a highly educated man, one must say (Engineering degree and MBA, etc.). He came to Canada at age 19 from Saudi Arabia and of Syrian origins. Bravo for him for being where he is now, and Bambi is sorry to hear that he lost his dad a few years ago during war.

So, all this to say, he seems to be devoted Liberal politician… but his past opinions raise questions indeed, to use Mr. Blanchet’s words. How can we trust that his ideology is behind him now, if he denies it like that? And what about the Canadian Arab Federation saga (see article in French and its Google Translation)? How can we trust Mr. Trudeau’s judgment, knowing that in the past, he has flirted with radical Islamists, knowingly or more naively? Again, Bambi is not talking about Muslims or Arabs… and she is one of the latter, for the record.

Yesterday or today, Mr. Al Ghabra condemned the violence against a synagogue in Montreal. Well done. The other day, he defended the rights of the Canadian families of the victims of the Ukrainian airplane brought down by the Iranians. He also contributed to raise funds and support Syrian civilians. He also spoke about the rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese people. This is noble, bravo (even if he may have also supported Islamist organizations in power).

Below are the media articles and the tweet of one of his colleagues that is making us think that he is a victim of injustice. Ironically, he is from Québec like Mr. Blanchet and Bambi, so he reads French too. He can go read the article called “Omar et Justin” following the tweet below.

https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/omar-alghabra-bloc-quebecois-accusations-1.5872482

https://nationalpost.com/news/bloc-takes-aim-at-new-transport-minister-pointing-finger-at-islamic-movement-ties

https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2016/01/21/omar-et-justin

Google Translate of the French article above, “Omar & Justin“.

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https://www.journaldemontreal.com/2016/01/21/omar-et-justin

Now finally, Bambi will conclude this post with the evidence of Mr. Al Ghabra’s support of the Sharia law in Ontario. He gave this interview to a “Al Moughtarib” (meaning “the emigrant” and by the way, his family name means “the dust”). The journalist asked him, among all the questions, about this Sharia law that did not pass. Check his response in bold. It is this support of the Sharia law that is disturbing for Mr. Blanchet who believes in the separation of the state and church, to use his own words (Bill 21 is all about that, no?). Like Mr. Blanchet, Bambi believes in a secular state as well. This being said, those who can understand Arabic can check the fourth column toward the middle. It reads as follows: “Unfortunately, the Islamic majority remained silent during the debate about this bill [on the implementation of Sharia law], leaving the room wide open for the minority opposing it, which was more vocal, and thus managed to make this bill fail. This was not meant to be against Muslims, but it is us who were divided and did not how to speak in one voice“.

Mmm, had Mr. Jack Dorsey (Twitter) silenced Ms. Hillary Clinton four years ago after the election results, would you have accepted it? If your answer is no, perhaps you should re-consider your support of the current censorship

So, the CBC published an article about the series of incongruent tweets by Mr. Dorsey. Of course, the CBC is not allowing readers to comment this article. This is why Bambi will have some fun sharing some of her thoughts about this totalitarian circus in North America’s media and social media:

https://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/twitter-jack-dorsey-trump-ban-1.5872700

Mr. Dorsey seems to be telling us that the tweets of Mr. Trump were so dangerous that he had to cancel him. Funny, because Bambi who is not a Trump supporter (just for the record!), did not observe any of this whilst reading and listening to his tweets and speech posted on Twitter on January 6. She was listening to it live when the sad and tragic violence took place in the Capitol.

Here is his full speech, by the way, thanks to Al Jazzera:

https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/1/11/full-transcript-donald-trump-january-6-incendiary-speech

Same for his latest speech from the website or YouTube channel of the White House (yesterday). Is there any call for violence in it? None whatsoever. On the contrary actually. If you do not believe Bambi and if you wish, you can got watch it, as she did.

Now, if you want to tell Bambi that his awful character is divisive by itself, she gets it.

If you tell her that just by encouraging people to go express their disapproval with the elections results in front of the Capitol is an indirect way of encouraging excesses or violence, she gets it and also agrees with you.

However, the last time she checked, gathering for political reasons is a right in democratic countries, even in her own birth country (despite the totalitarianism of the Hezbollah).

It may be risky or STUPID during a pandemic, but that’s a different story. Perhaps saving one’s democracy matters more than public health at times, at least in the mind of those who attend such demonstrations. To understand this, one must be born in a “shit hole”, to use Mr. Trump’s awful words ?… not in Canada.

Politically defending oneself (especially in such exceptional circumstances) and putting a political pressure on those decision makers is not a crime against humanity.

Those who stormed the Capitol in a criminal way in front of the world’s eyes or those who follow their leaders in a sectarian (dangerous and silly!) way, are the ones who must be held accountable for their actions.

Mr. Trump remains the current President (until January, 20, 2021). Mr. Dorsey’s attack on freedom of expression toward his President (even if he hates him to death) or toward his other fellow citizens, goes against the minimal basis of democracy: Everyone’s right to express an opinion peacefully and in public.

Had Mr. Trump been Mr. Hassan Nasrallah’s or those Mollahs’ in Iran, Bambi would have not agreed with Twitter in silencing them neither. She is saying so and God knows how much she dislikes their DANGEROUS ideology to our world, including her birth country.

Actually, she reads the Hezbollah website from time to time (even if it is a terrorist organization in Canada). She reads it to try to understand what is happening in the same way she reads the Israeli newspapers (even if she would be considered a traitor in her birth country for doing so).

Does she agree with Hezbollah or Israel? NO is the answer. Does she tolerate their media? Of course, she does. Even Mr. Nasrallah is smarter than Mr. Dorsey. He understood the importance of keeping your channels of communication open with your enemy. His website has a Hebrew version ?.

So, no Mr. Dorsey, your tweets are incongruent and inaccurate, telling us just half of the story. The half you sympathize with. To understand the complex reality, one must read both and all sides. This is what Bambi used to do during civil war. This is what she will continue to do, even if everything around her is censored to one side only, regardless of this side.

Some say you are a private company. In the end, you are free to collude with those silencing this President.  Maybe… but are you really a free person, Mr. Dorsey? Who is your boss for real or in your own close-minded mind? Are you serving this boss right now, before your shareholders (this is why your share prices went down?)? Why not serve your fellow citizens and freedom in your country? Or do you truly believe that you are saving the world from Nazism?

Bambi is disappointed because she has always had fun reading the Tweets of everyone, those to the left/radical left as much as those to the right/radical right. She learns about our world by reading all the voices. She sometimes agrees with the left (she has traditionally been a centre-left citizen). She sometimes agrees with the right (tolerating them and sometimes seeing value in some positions, especially on the economic level, etc.). She sometimes observes an agreement between the two sides on some issues (e.g., lockdowns) and this amuses her. Now, you have removed a source of entertainment for her during this pandemic.

Ironically, we now have almost an Apartheid on the web, the leftists on Twitter (of course, some of those to the right are still not cancelled) and those to the right to other platforms like Parler (now we are diabolizing it too).

Bambi saw a video where an American lady was kicked out of Delta Airways for her political opinion. Is this the new normal in this country, or just now where people are heated?

Before the era of social media, people resorted to rumours or nastiness in real life. Now, they can express their nastiness online.

To shut down opinions we do not agree with… or even to silence silly nastiness is simply insanity, in Bambi’s mind. Of course, Bambi is not talking about when someone calls for specific violence against a specific person at a specific time, etc.

Collective insanity pushed to the extreme can become fascism or totalitarianism.

For Bambi, this is a slippery slope, even if the winning side is the political side she has more sympathy for.

What is happening in the USA: Two suicides already… and one as a shot in the chest. Isn’t this odd?

https://www.forbes.com/sites/jemimamcevoy/2021/01/12/georgia-man-charged-in-us-capitol-attack-dies-by-suicide/?sh=3d6ad27977d2

https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/death-man-charged-capitol-siege-suicide

Perhaps it is just Bambi who is skeptical? Perhaps this is reminding her of those mysterious deaths within the Syrian regime (i.e., he shot himself twice in the back of his neck and killed himself type of thing….).

This piece of news in more than one source of information, if accurate, seems a bit odd.

Bambi hopes that the United States of America will find peace and unity in order to begin its journey toward healing.

May all those senseless deaths end. May everyone rest in peace…

Beirut port explosion: Criminals enjoy freedom whilst innocent scapegoats suffer in jail

Beirut, Lebanon

Her name is Ms. Nayla El Hajje. Bambi does not know her.

She is a civil engineer who happened to be working in the company that performed maintenance work in the Beirut hangar 12 that has exploded on August 4, 2020.

She has dual French and Lebanese citizenship. Sadly, France is not doing anything to help her whilst Lebanon is doing everything to scapegoat her… or at least, these are the appearances.

Ms. El Hajje grew up in France where she graduated from the Special School of Public Works in Paris.

Bambi read her name in the media at one point and noticed that she was the only woman arrested in the so-called Lebanese investigation of the surrealistic Beirut port blast.

Well, today, Bambi learned that this civil engineer is still in jail since August and… “neither her own mom nor herself know why“, according to an interview with her mother published in the l’Orient Le Jour, thanks to Ms. Marie-Jo Sader.

Ms. El-Hajje has lived most her life in France, it seems. She only moved to Lebanon in 2015.

As a reminder, the ammonium nitrate seems to have been shipped to Beirut (in 2013) before she landed in this capital herself (2015):

https://www.lorientlejour.com/article/1247993/-ma-fille-est-en-prison-et-ni-elle-ni-nous-ne-savons-pourquoi-.html

A quick Google Translation here:

https://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&u=https://www.lorientlejour.com/article/1247993/-ma-fille-est-en-prison-et-ni-elle-ni-nous-ne-savons-pourquoi-.html

Can someone tell Ms. Nayla El-Hajje’s mom why her daughter is in jail whilst all those high-ranked politicians who knew about the ammonium nitrate are not taking any responsibility? And what about those who may have perhaps benefited from this dangerous material?

Scapegoat…
