A first in Lebanon: its government is “considering legal action against Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem”

Once again, Iran-backed Hezbollah dragged Lebanon into war. Indeed, this militia, with a suicidal mentality, chose to protect the interests of the Iranian regime over the interests of Lebanon.

Tragically, we all know the cruelty of the unmeasured Israeli-response to the proxies of Iran. Hopelessly, we are witnessing again and again the suffering of the innocent Lebanese people. They are sick and tired of paying the price of wars of others on their own land. Today, their government seems to be considering legal action against Mr. Naim Qassem (https://tinyurl.com/4kffhbaw).

Bambi does not understand what this would concretely mean, but she salutes the courage of the Lebanese government, especially the Minister of Justice. For the first time, it seems to be standing up against this militia.

May the ban of military actions and the legal measures to hold the head of this group responsible be implemented as soon as possible.

She does not know about your own opinion, dear readers, but it is Bambi’s hope to see the Iranian regime falling down… and good luck to Iran following such historical event.

Enough of terror and wars in the Middle East. All its innocent people deserve to live in peace.

    1. Many thanks Russ for sharing your wishes with honesty and with your principles. Bambi is so sad to see the state of her birth county, the Middle East, and the entire world.

Some leaders may be afraid of radicals. Yet others may not see that danger the way your lucidity and life experience allow you to see it.

In Bambi’s mind, one thing is clear: all the people of the Middle East, and the world, want the same: live normally, that is with dignity, safety, stability, and in peace. Ask the average person in Lebanon, Iran, Palestine, Israel, all the Arab countries, and other neighbours of Iran, they all want those basic needs met. They just want to live. They all deserve peace.

In Lebanon, most people do not want to see the Iranian regime battling Israel on the Land of the Cedars (through Hezbollah; now managed directly on the ground by Iranian officials, if you listen to the experts there). This is an occupation, no longer just colonization by proxy.

This being said, nothing justifies the Israeli violence or re-occupation (even if we can easily understand that this country wants its people’s safety at any cost, including a humanitarian crisis elsewhere).

Since October 7, 2023, we could see that the war is becoming more existential in nature: Israel fighting for its existence and the Iranian regime using ALL its proxies, including Hamas/Hezbollah/Iraqi Katab Hezbollah/the Huthis, to remain in power. More recently, as it weakened, it massacred its own people over two days with the internet off, to ensure its survival. Now, it has been spreading fire to its neighbouring countries.

In Canada, we are now having debates on TV shows (at least what Bambi sees on her computer) discussing questions like: Was the move of Mr. Trump respectful of international law OR Iran does it have the nuclear power? Well, if it does not have it yet and it is behaving like, imagine how it would have behaved had it been a nuclear country?

As for the analysis about war, we can criticize the USA from dawn to dusk for acting like the police of the world…but when it does not do it, people around the world either expect it or beg it to do so.

Here in Canada, it is easy to come up with theories about this or that from the comfort of our safe and beautiful country. Of note, we are safe because of our geography, surrounded by water AND also safe because of our powerful neighbour, whether we want to admit it or not.

As far as she is concerned, Bambi does not have a particular preference for any political party or any particular leader. Clearly, she did not endorse the path taken by Mr. Trudeau (et al.) with regard to what she called modern form of sectarianism in our collectively insane times. She expressed her opinions about the latter on her blog in several posts.

  2. I am sorry to hear that. I hope the Islamic regime in my country fall very soon and the Middle East and the world live in peace without a terrorist regime.
