By firing a missile toward Israel tonight, Hezbollah appears to prefer the Islamist ideology (+ funding) of the apparently agonizing Iranian regime over the love of Lebanon’s sovereignty, unity, stability, and peace. How sad. How irresponsible.
Bravo to the Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam for condemning the rocket that was launched from southern Lebanon. He did well by calling it for what it is: “an irresponsible and suspicious act“, which “endangers the country’s security and integrity and gives Israel pretexts to continue its attacks” (https://tinyurl.com/2ru9bb3y).
May God protect Lebanon and all its innocent people wherever they are. They are fed up of violence. They cannot take it anymore. Enough of playing with people’s lives. Enough of absurdity and criminality. Nothing justifies this act, not even grief.

There is much truth and much wisdom in your words Russ. Both parts: the closed mindset and the learning. In Bambi’s humble opinion, it comes down to the following: wanting to learn and learning to learn to accept when it is time to stop imposing one’s own ideology on all the other fellow citizens. In other (patriotic) terms: serving the interests of one’s own country instead of the military, political, and existential projects of a foreign country (i.e., its regime). The people of Lebanon are tired. They cannot take any more wars and displacements. They need to live in their own villages, towns, and neighbourhoods in dignity and safety. These are basic human needs.

We Iranian people fed up with the regime. They have destroyed our country and resources and other countries for nothing for 47 years.
We don’t like war, no one wants it, but they waged death to US, death to Israel … from 1979 and now some say Iranian people asked the US for war. No, it was the regime that wanted that but my people are paying the price.
