Vandalism at Toronto’s “Healthy Moms Market”: Isn’t it sad to see the Middle East problems imported into Canada?

Healthy Moms Market sells natural baby products, artistic wooden toys, plastic-free school lunch containers, nutritional supplements for the entire family, natural products such as skincare for mothers in addition to a baby gift registry (https://shorturl.at/zhWkW).

Just because the owner of this interesting and much needed business on Dundas Street (Toronto, Canada) happens to be Jewish, she was targeted with vandalism twice, not just once.

Why should Ms. Aviva Allen be made responsible for what is happening, miles away, in the doomed Middle East? Why should she be intimidated with anti-Israel stickers (https://shorturl.at/FcVm1)?

Of note, vandalism is included in provisions covering mischief in Section 430(1) of the Canadian Criminal Code (https://shorturl.at/54ymM). Practically, the act of vandalism is often considered as a minor crime (e.g., spray painting graffiti or breaking a window). Nevertheless, deliberately OR recklessly damaging someone’s property/business could result in a prison sentence for up to 10 years, depending on the severity of the damage (https://shorturl.at/jkEYI).

Criminal or not, pending the outcome of the Toronto Police Services (TPS) Hate Crimes Unit investigation, vandalism is socially, morally, and behaviourally unacceptable.

Ms. Allen stated the following to the Canadian Jewish News: “I haven’t posted anything about Israel since right after Oct. 7, with the exception of a few videos or ‘stories’ [brief posts or shares] about antisemitism… [and] something about the Bibas babies (https://shorturl.at/FcVm1). Same like Bambi who also paid tribute to the Bibas family members, as shown further below. May their memory be eternal.

Even if Ms. Allen had expressed a support to Israel, as a state, to its hostages in particular, or population in general, no one has the right to intimidate her and install fear in her staff and clientele. Enough of intolerance and of importation of the world’s ugliest problems to our beautiful Canada.

Mr. Ghassan Yammine: isn’t his performance of Aznavour’s “Hier encore” [Only Yesterday] wonderful?

Bambi can be behind with songs, singers, and surely movies. Thanks to an article recently published in L’Orient Le jour (https://shorturl.at/p1CsS), she came across Mr. Ghassan Yammine, a pianist, singer, and songwriter from Lebanon (https://shorturl.at/fkYZN). What a beautiful voice. What a moving song, which tells the story of an old man who looks back at his early life with much regret for wasted opportunities. Bravo to Mr. Yammine and thanks to Mr. Charles Aznavour for his inspiring talent. May his memory be eternal.

L’Orient Le Jour: Families of the victims of the Beirut port explosion call on witnesses to come forward; Bambi stands in solidarity with them!

In a published statement, which followed their monthly sit-in held on the 4th of each month, families of the victims of the Beirut surreal port explosion of the 4th of August 2020 denounced the “attempts to bury the investigation“. Families also expressed the following: “Fifty-six months have passed since the tragic explosion (…). We will continue to pursue those responsible for the bloodshed of the victims and the destruction of the capital. You would do better to appear before the investigating judge, because the innocents do not fear justice” (https://shorturl.at/hzzn4).

Ms. Isabelle Boulay’s version of “Avec le temps”: is there anything more beautiful than her voice?

Bambi has no secrets for the regular readers of her blog.

Yes, as they may have noticed over the past years, she adores French songs.

Mr. Leo Ferré’s sad love piece, composed following a breakup, is perhaps one of the most beautiful French songs ever. Québec’s Isabelle Boulay is singing it below. What a beautiful and warm voice. What a talented Canadian singer.

Thank you, Ms. Boulay for existing. Please keep singing!

The spring season in the Netherlands through the lens of the talented Salome: Is there anything more magical?

Spring is Salome’s favourite season. She loves it when nature blossoms!

She appreciates each smell. She rejoices with each colour, including the “vibrant pink“.

To use her own beautiful words: “it is a treat to watch them and bask in their beauty!”

It is surely a joy for Bambi to share with you Salome’s wonderful pictures and videos. If she may, she dedicates them to Fred in Canada’s capital and Carla in Lebanon. Happy Birthday to both of them with much love : ).

Many thanks to Salome for her generosity. Bravo for her artistic talent. Bambi LOVES her beyond the four seasons. May she and her adorable family members all be doing well ❤️.

Long live the charming Netherlands in all seasons, especially its spring!

What is the central underlying theme to all the above, you think? Yes, LIES :), you got it. Happy April Fool’s, everyone! Bambi started her day with a silly joke, shared with her family and close friends. She did not want this day to end without trying to make you smile before it would be too late… yes, midnight is coming in an hour at her end!

ZAZ: “Je pardonne” [I forgive]

The decision to forgive is a deeply personal choice.

Although forgiveness has different meanings for each one of us, one way of defining this conscious process may be as follows: it is “an intentional decision to let go of resentment and anger” (https://shorturl.at/T9lcr).

Letting go of resentment, or saying no to bitterness, occurs even if the “hurt” of the “act” that offended us might always “be with us“, as well explained by the Mayo Clinic’s website (https://shorturl.at/T9lcr).

Bearing the above in mind, it was uplifting for Bambi to listen to the inspiring lyrics of Zaz’ new released song on forgiveness. She hopes that you will enjoy her deep piece.

Of note, the most talented Zaz composed her song’s text in her beautiful mother tongue, the French language, with a couple of words in Spanish. For your convenience, and thanks to an unknown publisher, the YouTube video below includes English sub-titles.

Eid el Fitr is coming!

Soon the holy month of Ramadan will come to a end.

Yes, Eid el Fitr, which marks the end of Ramadan, is around the corner.

For observant Muslims, fasting from dawn to dusk during Ramadan is one o the five pillars of their religion. The four other pillars of Islam are daily payers, the profession of faith, alms-giving, and pilgrimage.

Of course, not everyone wants or can fast. However, we all enjoy the spirit of this month where families and friends come together to break a daily fast and to celebrate Eid el Fitr.

Whether they fasted or not, from the bottom of her heart, Bambi wishes her dear readers, friends, and relatives a Happy Id. May they feel fulfilled by their faith. May their generosity return to them in surprising ways. May their hearts be filled with inner peace and love, along with hope, while their bellies are spoiled with delicious meals, shared with cherished ones.

Eid Fitr Moubarak ❤️!

Among Lebanon’s President, Prime Minister, and Hezbollah’s Chief: where does the truth lie?

In Lebanon, President Aoun (and former army commander) declared that the Hezbollah is “cooperative on the weapons issue” (https://tinyurl.com/mrxr9j4j) while Prime Minister Salam stated that “a page has been turned on Hezbollah’s weapons” (https://tinyurl.com/5453bkx7). The above comments sound promising up until we learn that the Head of the Hezbollah, Mr. Naim Qassem, recognizes the new phase, but “not without weapons” (https://tinyurl.com/5a3avh4c). For him, “this phase does not mean a change of principles, only an evolution of methods” (https://tinyurl.com/5a3avh4c).

If you find the above confusing, it is because this is Lebanon. Nothing is simple in this tiny yet highly complex country, with its conflicted past, current, and likely imminent history. Imagine how touchy the militia weapons’ issue must be in the context of the recent/current war with Israel, which weakened the Hezbollah, along with heavy destruction.

Bearing the above in mind, among the three Lebanese men mentioned in this post, where does the truth lie? The question that begs itself is the following: what is next for tiny Lebanon, which is sick and tired of endlessly absurd wars?
