{"id":8402,"date":"2020-12-28T00:26:03","date_gmt":"2020-12-28T04:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bambisafkar.ca\/?p=8402"},"modified":"2020-12-28T00:26:03","modified_gmt":"2020-12-28T04:26:03","slug":"the-canadian-mining-industry-is-going-woke-could-canada-still-be-saved-from-silly-ideologies-or-is-it-too-late","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bambisafkar.ca\/index.php\/2020\/12\/28\/the-canadian-mining-industry-is-going-woke-could-canada-still-be-saved-from-silly-ideologies-or-is-it-too-late\/","title":{"rendered":"The Canadian mining industry is going woke: Could Canada still be saved from silly ideologies, or is it too late?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/bambisafkar.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/NoneSense-11.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8403\" width=\"155\" height=\"155\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bambisafkar.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/NoneSense-11.jpg 225w, https:\/\/bambisafkar.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/NoneSense-11-150x150.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 155px) 85vw, 155px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Every now and then, Bambi spends time searching the\ninternet for new updates on the degradation of the situation in Canada. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She finds it particularly\nworrisome when one of our major sectors of the economy, and not one usually\nknown for political correctness, is becoming illuminated (or woke):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are talking about a\nsector that contributes about $110 billion to our national gross domestic product\n(or GDP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In other terms, this\nsector is neither about our federal government\u2019s institutions, nor about a\nbunch of young activists still idealistic and easily influenced by trendy\nmovements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Anyhow, below you can\nfind the official statement by the <em>Mining Association of Canada <\/em>about\nits commitment to the so-called<em> \u201cEquity, Diversity, and Inclusion\u201d. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To conclude this post,\nusing the statement\u2019s own words, who can be for \u201c<em>inequity, discrimination\nand hatred in all its forms<\/em>\u201d? Are you for it yourself? Of course\nnot. Neither is Bambi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is of course noble\nin and by itself, but why does this mining sector of Canada feel the need to endorse\nsuch statements and pledges? <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Is it being forced by our government? Or is it simply afraid of not being perceived as being a follower of trends (like other people in our society)?
