Bambi would like to thank her friend Leila for sharing\nthis thoughtful short video of Ms. El-Yafi on the Beirut explosion in which she\nshared her thoughts, along with a couple of moving stories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi recalls having listened to Ms. El Yafi in an interview\nwith European media immediately following the explosion. What an articulate and\nclever Lebanese political adviser who holds a Master in Public Policy from the Harvard\nKennedy School of Government. <\/em>She speaks fluent Arabic, French, and\nEnglish. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Ms. El-Yafi\u2019s own words (+ tears\u2026), \u201c\u2026 Justice\nis the cornerstone of healthy nation-building. We will strategically pursue it,\nand we will achieve it. Onwards<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before sharing this video with you, Bambi cannot help\nnot to wonder about the following (after watching the video, she is even more\npuzzled\u2026!). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What happened in Beirut on August 4th<\/sup>, 2020?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Was the port blast (or blasts?) due to criminal\nnegligence only?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or was it criminal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or both?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is behind this tragedy?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did Israel attack by airplane or was it a coincidence\nthat airplanes may have been flying over Beirut then (mind you, they regularly fly\nat low altitude and scare people)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did Israel know about the ammonium nitrate? Or just about\nthe other stuff, called weapons, that explodes too?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did they attack the port (first explosion at least?)?\nWhy and why then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did a third unknown party attack?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did anyone attack? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is the role of the Hezbollah, which is notoriously\nknown to control this wharf of the port? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Or was Beirut\u2019s surrealistic explosion a stupid\naccident merely due to the incompetence of the ruling mafia-like elite of tiny bankrupt\nLebanon? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who knows? Perhaps this tragedy was not related to\nneither Israel nor Hezbollah? Or just to the former, but not the latter? But if\nthat is the case, to cite another good friend of Bambi, why are both Israel and\nHezbollah silent about each other (no one is blaming the other)? Since when?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So many questions and yet no answer is possible without\nan international investigation\u2026This being said, the tragedy of tiny Lebanon is\nthat it just had the ultimate evidence that UN tribunals can be jokes (as per Bambi\u2019s\nearlier post today on Hariri\u2019s killing). Sadly, the UN seems to be at the mercy\nof powerful entities (today the latter are perhaps China along with the Islamists\nof our world). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To conclude this post, sadly, regardless of any justice for the victims of the Beirut explosion, as Bambi\u2019s own mom told her today, \u201cThis explosion brought us SO MANY years backward\u2026<\/em>\u201d. \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
