In what world do we live, when in the middle of a\npandemic with devastating public health and economic issues, an article in our\nstate media about \u201coffensive language\u201d of (male) politicians?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all due respect to Ms. Megan Mitton, who called her like this? Can she tell us ?? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi thought that by a second term, she would have developed\na thicker skin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s wrong with lady? Isn\u2019t this a noble title? What\u2019s\nwrong with being young ??\nDid she prefer \u201cold lady<\/em>\u201d instead?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For over a decade and perhaps 15 years, Bambi thought \u201cMa\npetite Madame<\/em>\u201d was said to her in public places (e.g., by cashier in supermakets,\netc.) because she is small. It turned out that no, it could be said to any woman,\neven tall ones. She was happy to know that, even if she did not mind it if it\nwasn\u2019t the case (she is indeed smaller than average French-Canadian \u201cladies<\/em>\u201d).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for her Green MLA colleague, Mr. Kevin Arsenau,\nsince when \u201cour Indigenous people<\/em>\u201d is disrespectful and with a\ncolonial attitude? Bambi may have used that term in front of immigrants (and\nshe is an old one\u2026 yes old not \u201cyoung\u201d as in \u201cyoung lady<\/em>\u201d ?!). She thinks she may have even used\nit before \u201cFirst Nations<\/em>\u201d once even, and her ancestors are surely not\nsettlers in this country. They are \u201cIndigenous\u201d maybe (as Phenicians?). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Seriously now, there is something tender with the word\n\u201cour\u201d and something \u201cinclusive\u201d, on the contrary. At least, this is how Bambi\nperceives it because she does not spontaneously attribute bad intentions to people\nshe communicates with or people who talk about her or about a facet of her\ncomplex identities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Are those Green politicians now playing on words to create\na sort of discomfort in not only their peers, but also in their society? We\nalso now become even more politically correct that way? For Bambi, this is a form\nof combined control and superficiality. This is even dangerous, if pushed to\nthe extreme in a society. It can eventually create strife. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no country in the world that doesn\u2019t have its\nown tensions between groups. We are blessed in NB to be as harmonious as we can\nbe, despite our issues. Some countries have issues between Shia or Sunni\nMuslims. Other countries have issues between people of African descent and others\nof European origins, etc. Yet other between more secular majority\/ies and the\nmost religious minorities (e.g., Israel, Lebanon, and perhaps now France,\netc.). This is why a concept like \u201csystemic racism\u201d is a catch-all term that\ncan be used as weapon in any country, not just the USA or ours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All this being said, can we please focus on the more\npressing issues in life? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, Ms. Megan has at heart issues like\nhousing. This is concrete. This is highly important in people\u2019s daily lives,\nmore than a word said here or written there. Please Ms. Megan keep your good\nwork and let go the superficial issues that distract us from what matters the\nmost for us: Actions to improve our lives.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other terms, can you please, as Opposition, hold Mr. Higgs\u2019 government accountable to us, the taxpayers?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
