Freedom\nof speech is by no means something that is done to target or hurt you.<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But help me defend freedom of expression because it is this freedom &#8230; it is only with this condition that we can live with each other. Otherwise it would be against each other.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What feeds fear is incomprehension. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What breeds hatred is ignorance.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>And the tyrants of this world keep it going.<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The most effective weapon against these tyrants, these extremists in the long term is knowledge, it is understanding, it is knowledge of the face of the other in all its aspects, in all its traits, it is this capacity to look at the face of the other with in what it is different from mine, it is all these civilizations with each other, men with women &#8230;<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Create research chairs on Muslim civilization, on French civilizations, etc., allow academic controversies <\/em><em>[Bambi will add here: what a contrast with our Canadian approach of censorship!].<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>A difficult fight to lead, difficult in the weeks to come because today some men and some women have decided the worst in this fight against ignorance, which is a fight of hate. I need all women and all men, whatever their religion.\u201d<\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">In the original French now<\/span>:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>\u00abLe message\nque porte la France: Ce n\u2019est pas au nom de ta religion que tu peux sortir de\nta citoyennet\u00e9 ET ce n\u2019est pas au nom de ta citoyennet\u00e9 que tu peux combattre\nune religion.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>B\u00e2tir la m\u00eame\nrepr\u00e9sentation du monde ensemble.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>C\u2019est pour cela que je le dis vraiment avec beaucoup d\u2019humilit\u00e9 et d\u2019amiti\u00e9, au sens propre du terme, pour tous les musulmans:<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Ne vous m\u00e9prenez\npas sur ce qu\u2019est la libert\u00e9 d\u2019expression.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>La libert\u00e9\nd\u2019expression ce n\u2019est en aucun cas quelque chose qui est fait pour vous\natteindre ou blesser.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Mais aidez-moi\n\u00e0 d\u00e9fendre la libert\u00e9 d\u2019expression parce que c\u2019est cette libert\u00e9\u2026 ce n\u2019est\nqu\u2019avec cette condition qu\u2019on peut vivre les uns avec les autres.
