When people immigrate, they dream of finding a\ndifferent place, on average better than their birth countries. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, a host country must be prepared to welcome\nthem. However, they do have the responsibility to adjust to their new environment,\ninstead of changing the environment to suit them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adjustment to a new country is a learning process. It takes\ntime and effort. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Life is a give and take. You give up some ways of doing\nthings. You learn new ways. You learn possibly a new language, etc.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n

All the latest fashionable publications, mainly in the\nmainstream media and even academia, exclude this responsibility. Instead, they\nare all about showing us how oppressive we are as a society to the \u201cvictimized\u201d\nso-called people of colour or darker people (i.e., black), etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi feels like saying: Enough is enough. Can we please\nhave more refined thought again?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To illustrate her point, Bambi would like to share\nwith you the following articles, just an example. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some articles tell us that we must de-colonize our bookshelf,\nto be anti-racist:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Others tells us that we\nmust de-colonize our practices as therapists. Look at this funny article\nentitled \u201cThe Budding Field of Climate-Aware Therapy Must Be Decolonized To\nServe BIPOC Communities<\/em>\u201d (by the way, can someone tell Bambi what the\nlatter means. She only knows that BIPOC <\/em>is supposed to include a deer\nlike her, since it stands for Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour<\/em>. Well,\nBambi loves freedom. How can she see herself reduced to this fancy acronym\nthen? She refuses it ?):<\/p>\n\n\n\n
