It is not for nothing that you have been called \u201c<em>Sit el Dounya<\/em>\u201d (<em>the Lady of the world<\/em>). Further below you can see a translation of this beautiful poem by Mr. Nizar Quabbani written during war, which later became a famous song by Majida (video # 3).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Some used to call Beirut the \u201c<em>Paris of the Orient<\/em>\u201d or \u201c<em>the\nSwitzerland of the Middle East<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These days seem far away\u2026 and yet when we are a true lady,\ndeep inside, we remain one even in our misery. Indeed, Bambi recalls very well the\nwise words that her grandmother Asma used to say: \u201c<em>The rich remains rich\ndespite poverty\u2026 and the poor remains poor despite all the richness<\/em>\u201d.
