Below, Bambi feels the urge to react to the following CBC<\/em> article informing that \u201cofficial Black Lives Matter chapter formed in New Brunswick<\/em>\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canadians, and especially Maritimers, are na\u00efve. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They do not know how radicalism operates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

They are blessed to live in peace and in a quiet environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lady in the picture is citing the Prophet Mohamed\u2026.\nA holy Prophet (bless his name) but ironically, he comes from one of the most\nracist parts of the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plus, this article talks about \u201cthe black community\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

There is no single \u201cblack\u201d community (and no single \u201cwhite\u201d\ncommunity neither).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How can you be from one single entity when you come from\ndifferent places and backgrounds?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The experiences of an Afro-American adolescent are not\nlike those of a Sudanese youth living in Ottawa or a newcomer to NB from Congo\nor a francophone Maritimer from Paris who happens to have a black skin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do all these people cited above have in common? Really?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The only thing they have in common is to be New Brunswickers\nall of them! Canadians!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why don\u2019t they focus on what unites them to make our\nprovince and country a better place for all?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are they falling into the trap of putting barriers\nbetween them and others instead of building bridges between them and others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi feels like telling these surely well-meaning young\npeople the following:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Like you, she has encountered a couple of \u201cracist\u201d\nsituations or folks throughout her 30 years in Canada. Who hasn\u2019t? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, we may perceive situations as being\nnegative when they are not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sometimes, we judge too fast. We do no wait for facts\nor explanations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are 37 million Canadians. Isn\u2019t it normal to have a few who would be truly racist or truly unwelcoming?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are about 745, 000 New Brunswickers. Isn\u2019t it normal to meet a few who may be unwelcoming?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, this does not mean that our country is\nracist. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

NB is NOT racist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Canada is NOT racist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We do NOT have \u201csystemic\u201d racism or \u201csystemic\u201d\ndiscrimination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We just have \u201csystemic naivety\u201d because we are a young country and because we want to save the world.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Oh, one quick question to Mr. Husoni Raymond: Upon your graduation from St-Thomas University, you have been named the 2020 recipient of the Tom McCann Memorial Trophy for your \u201cstrong leadership and character, and who best portrays the spirit of St. Thomas through their contributions<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If NB is as racist as you are claiming, would one of its prestigious universities be honouring you like that ??<\/p>\n\n\n\n
