Ms. Hajdu, our federal health Minister, said in response\nto a question from a reporter asking \u201c\u2026 whether the WHO\u2019s data could be relied\nupon if China\u2019s isn\u2019t accurate\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 \u201cYour\nquestion is feeding into conspiracy theories that many people have been\nperpetuating on the Internet<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If this is not intimidation to reporters, what is it?\nMr. Lorrie Goldstein may be right on this one:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In an apparent response to a similar question by a reporter\nlast Wednesday, Mr. Trudeau said:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201c\u2026<\/em>\u201d. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With all due respect to our PM, the \u201c\u2026<\/em>\u201d above\nis his usual beautiful yet empty blahblahblah. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

You may wish to fill the dots with whatever words you\nlike. Words that sound politically correct, perhaps \u201cinclusive\u201d, socially or\u2026 even\nglobally acceptable. Regardless of your choice of words, Bambi bets they will\nlikely not provide any real answer (yes, regardless of the question). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a rather classical Trudeau communication style,\nat least in politics. It was like that pre-pandemic. It will continue to be so\npost-pandemic (for those who will survive to witness). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His minority government will likely continue to throw\nmoney at us, now more than ever\u2026 from our own taxes, taking it from one pocket\nto the other. Of course, regardless, it is nice for us to have a government\nthat has the willingness to support citizens in this awful economic crisis. Bambi\nremains a grateful \u201cdeer\u201d, just like her fellow \u201chuman\u201d Canadian citizens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This being said, despite people\u2019s incredible capacity to\nlearn, Bambi is convinced that what would predict human behaviour the best in\nlife remains perhaps simple (no need for fancy statistical modelling to\nestimate it): In general, if she may generalize to all human beings including\nMr. Trudeau, past behaviour tends to the best predictor of future behaviour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other terms, what we have seen from Mr. Trudeau in\npast crises, in the pre-pandemic era, will likely be his approach during a pandemic.\nIf we are seeing a promising difference now, we should always remember the wise\nFrench saying that goes like this: \u201cChassez le naturel, il revient au galop<\/em>\u201d.\nIn English, it means: \u201cwhat is bred in the bone will come out in the flesh<\/em>\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, this saying applies to anyone, including former\nDrama teachers, despite their better skills in hiding what would be \u201cbred in\nthe bone<\/em>\u201d.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
