Music is like love. It transcends death.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Music is international and it must remain above politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

By remaining a free expression, music can contribute\nto keeping the channels of communication open, to foster peaceful moments, and hopefully\nto encourage justice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Celine\u2019s songs are about love. Love is for all. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e9line Dion has fans around the world, including\nPalestine, Israel, Lebanon, Iran, Saudi Arabia, China, North Korea, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C\u00e9line has friends who may be Palestinians, Arab-Israelis,\nor Israelis. They may be tourists too. Who knows? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some fans may be Arabs or Muslims and they would be attending\nher concert in Israel. Who knows?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why is Dr. Amir Khadir, former MLA (or \u201cd\u00e9put\u00e9\u201d from Qu\u00e9bec Solidaire<\/em>), being a bully to C\u00e9line Dion, circulating a petition to force her to boycott Israel?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is he to tell her how to live her life and her\ncareer?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was supposed to sing in Beirut this summer, but she\nsadly has cancelled her tour due to the circumstances there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Imagine if one day things change and a certain lobby in Canada decides to call for the boycott of events in Lebanon because its current \u00a0(or future?) governments are backed by the Hezbollah, closed to Iran (Dr. Khadir himself is of Iranian origins; he can imagine why Bambi is saying this, if he ever reads her post ?). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would it be OK to resort to boycott then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why now and why not then?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why then and why not now?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if someone decides to boycott another entity\nbecause of another cause he\/she thinks is morally superior?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are we getting into this totalitarian logic and imposing\nour own views or values on others?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why are we getting into silencing artists? Arts is above\nboundaries and political conflicts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi is writing this and she has the UTMOST respect\nfor the Palestinian cause that she has defended in many ways over her lifetime,\nand especially in her youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She was born in Lebanon, which was dragged into civil\nwar in big part following this historical injustice in the neighbourhood of her\nbirth country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi knows Israel way too well. No, she has never\nvisited (she cannot) and she is not interested anyways. Israel came to her\nrather, without asking her permission. It has occupied her country for 20 years\nand invaded her Beirut when she was 10 years old. Israel has also bombarded her\ncountry many times since then (thank you Hezbollah\/Iran for putting Lebanon at increased\nrisk of Israeli wrath \u2639).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet, Bambi is against boycotting Israel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against boycotting Iran (controlling Lebanon now). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against boycotting Syria (another former occupier of\nLebanon). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against boycotting Saudi Arabia (would have perhaps\ndreamed to be in charge of Lebanon now, instead of Iran).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is against boycotting energy companies, especially\nwhen the latter are Canadian ones. She also has other logical reasons not to\nendorse the latter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In sum, Bambi is with music, arts, free thinking, free\ntrade (which is currently blocked in our country because of radical protesters),\nand free expression of feelings and thoughts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ms. C\u00e9line Dion, you are free to sing on the moon if you wish or on \u201cPlanet B that does not exist\u201d, as Greta Thunberg would have said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi is a fan, even if she has never been to one of\nyour concerts (yet?). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bambi respects your free will. Just be safe\u2026 and\nplease keep on singing, as the world (and especially the bloody Middle East!)\nneeds your voice\u2026 and your humanity!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
