It is from the Chair of the Department of Sociology and Anthropology at Carelton University, Dr. Blair Rutherford, concerning the saga of Dr. Hassan Diab:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-wordpress wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-department-of-sociology-and-anthropology\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-embedded-content\" data-secret=\"ceLSSblJlT\"><a href=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/socanth\/2021\/justice-for-our-colleague-dr-hassan-diab\/\">Justice for our colleague Dr. Hassan Diab<\/a><\/blockquote><iframe class=\"wp-embedded-content\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts\" security=\"restricted\" style=\"position: absolute; clip: rect(1px, 1px, 1px, 1px);\" title=\"&#8220;Justice for our colleague Dr. Hassan Diab&#8221; &#8212; Department of Sociology and Anthropology\" src=\"https:\/\/carleton.ca\/socanth\/2021\/justice-for-our-colleague-dr-hassan-diab\/embed\/#?secret=ceLSSblJlT\" data-secret=\"ceLSSblJlT\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, it seems that the French courts have decided to have him stand trial in France, despite the lack of evidence (&#8220;<em>other than discredited evidence&#8221;<\/em>) to link him to the deadly and tragic bombing of a synagogue in Paris over 40 years ago (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20110606-canada-bombing-extradited-france-justice-hassan-diab-paris\">https:\/\/www.france24.com\/en\/20110606-canada-bombing-extradited-france-justice-hassan-diab-paris<\/a>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a statement from Dr. Hassan Diab himself (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.justiceforhassandiab.org\/bayne-memos-2021-05\">https:\/\/www.justiceforhassandiab.org\/bayne-memos-2021-05<\/a>):  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>My life has been turned upside down because of unfounded allegations  and suspicions. I am innocent of the accusations against me. I have never engaged in terrorism. I have never participated in any terrorist  attacks.
